Split Fees on a Case
Updated over a week ago

How to split fees on a case.

  • Deposit the settlement check and select Take Fees from the drop-down arrow.

  • Navigate to the Settlement Fees section and select the drop-down arrow to the right of the total settlement fees amount.

  • Select Split Fees.

  • Select the referring firm from the Payee Two drop-down list. Enter the fee amounts paid to your firm and the referring firm, and enter any check numbers.

  • Select Save.

  • You'll now see the fees paid to each firm listed under the Settlement Fees section of the Settlement Negotiations screen.

For Firms Using Soluno:

  • Navigate to the referred case.

  • Enter the referring attorney or firm on the Attorney Liens Tab of the case.

  • Add in the amount of the attorney lien. If the amount is a percentage of the final settlement, input the amount until you know what the dollar amount would be.

  • On the Settlement Tab, adjust your fee logic by selecting the dollar amount option. For example, if the total attorney fee amounts to $10,000 and the referral fee is 10% of that ($1,000), your firm can take a dollar amount fee of $9,000 and then there can be an attorney lien for $1,000. You can then log and track the division in the memo or notes section when taking your fees.
